Abigail Good (born 1973〔Alison Jones, ("Interview Abigail Good: Cruise to stardom; Alison Jones meets the Birmingham model plucked to stardom to appear opposite Tom Cruise." ) ''Birmingham Post'', September 11, 1999 .〕) is an English runway model and an actress. Good was born in Leicester, raised in Singapore, returned to England as a teenager and went to school in Bromsgrove. After modeling for some ten years, she was selected by Stanley Kubrick to play the small but important role of the "Mysterious Woman" in his 1999 film ''Eyes Wide Shut''.〔 Her character intercedes to rescue the protagonist, played by Tom Cruise, from the Master of Ceremonies of a secret society. In the film, her character is introduced as part of a sex ritual patterned after a blend of Catholicism and Orthodox Judaism. She selects the male lead played by Tom Cruise and, after leading him onto a balcony warns him that he shouldn't be there and should leave. Later, after his identity is discovered, the Grand Master threatens to punish the protagonist, but Good's character accepts the blame instead, and she is led away to an unspecified punishment. As a result of her intervention, he is permitted to leave, and the incident becomes a catalyst that forces him to decide what kind of man he wants to become. The role of the Mysterious Woman appeared to be combined in some fashion with that of Mandy (portrayed by Julienne Davis), a prostitute with whom the Cruise character has a brief connection.
